On this page you will find links to the ETS schedule / timetable for the all the high-speed Electric Train Services in Malaysia that currently operate between Padang Besar (on the border with Thailand) to the north, and Gemas to the south.

The line south of Gemas to Johor Bahru is currently being upgraded and a new Shuttle Trains Service is in operation on this section of the tracks until the new electrified dual tracks are completed.

From Gemas, Shuttle trains continue south to Johor Bahru (JB Sentral) and Singapore (Woodlands).

ETS KL Sentral - Ipoh
There are now many ETS Services a day on this route between Kuala Lumpur's KL Sentral Railway Station and Ipoh Railway Station, stopping at the following stations on its route.
These trains stop at :
- Kuala Lumpur's Old Moorish Railway Station (KTM Terminal)
- Kepong Sentral
- Sg. Buloh
- Rawang
- Batang Kali
- K. Kubu Baru
- Tg. Malim
- Behrang
- Slim River
- Sungkai
- Tapah Rd
- Kampar
- Batu Gajah
Silver Services stop at all the above stations, Gold Services have fewer stops, Platinum Services even fewer.

The new ETS Gold and ETS Platinum Services from Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar are limited stop services, calling at the following stations (please note : none of these services takes the branch line to Butterworth / Bukit Mertajam) :

This ETS Service operates between Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Butterworth in Penang and is now part of a separate KL - Butterworth route, adding the following stations to the ETS route :

Starting from the 10th October 2015, the line between KL Sentral and Gemas was opened to the ETS Trains.

About the new Butterworth Penang Padang Besar Komuter Train services (Komuter Utara):
A new KTMB Komuter Service has started operating from the beginning of January 2016 from Butterworth Railway Station in Penang, to Padang Besar Railway Station in Perlis, on the border with Thailand.

These commuter trains have replaced the Butterworth to Padang Besar fast ETS Train services which are now no longer take the branch line to Butterworth and with the new ETS schedule from the 3rd of June 2018, the Butterworth to Padang Besar route will only be operated by commuter trains.
KTM commuter services consist of three carriages per train on all weekday services.
At busy weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), three extra carriages are added to the following trains:
Train numbers : 2944 - 2952 - 2956 - 2960 - 2964 - 2968 - 2976.

The trip from Butterworth to Pdg. Besar will take one hour and 51 minutes to cover the 158 km.
Tickets for the whole trip will cost 11.40 MYR (for the full fares table - see below).

This price does not guarantee you a seat, but most times of the year there will be plenty available.
Tickets for Komuter Trains are not available to buy in advance, so just turn up at the station and buy a ticket
From Padang Besar, there is now a new Shuttle Train Service from the border to the southern city of Hat Yai in Thailand.

Pdg. Besar - Butterworth Komuter Ticket Prices / Fares
Prices for these commuter services are very cheap and you can buy one ticket all the way to the border from Padang Rengas in Perak (with a change of train at Bukit Mertajam).
